My Top 5 Times The UFC Hit Gold.

Intro.

When you isolate the UFC, and hold them under a microscope, they haven't always hit gold as many times as you might think. From the days when they bled money, all the way to today. This is my run through of the times when the UFC hit Gold.

5. Chuck vs Tito.

When you think of these two, the moment when Tito jumped the cage after when Chuck beat Vitor, and this was the catalyst for what going to come. The MMA press would put pressure on Tito to fight chuck, and this eventually happened, after Tito lost his Light Heavyweight Championship to Randy Couture. The fires between these two were epic, from firery insults in the media, two Chuck beating Tito twice, and there eventual coaching stint on the ultimate Fighter. This was a golden time to be a fan of both of these fighters.

4. Michael Bisping Puts UK MMA On The Map.

The year was 2006. The world Cup took place in Germany. Pearl Jam headlined the Reading Festival, and. Michael The Count Bisping a little unknown fighter from Clitheroe in Manchester was on the brink on becoming a UFC stand out, when he appeared on their version of Big Brother The Ultimate Fighter. This caused a big stir within the scene here in the UK, as multiple MMA Gyms would then pop up, making Michael the first British MMA superstar.

3. Glover Texiera.

Gold would come this mans way later down the line. But if you followed him in back in 2012, you could tell that the UFC were on to something special. He was endearing, and he could back it up in the cage. 

2. Chris Weidman Is The Middleweight Champion.

UFC 163 was a Gold catching moment that was caught in time perfectly, on one hand, it was the end of the spider, whilst on the other. Chris Weidman was the new kid in town, and as things went, he would go on to have a stellar run with the belt, that would last for two and a half years, after he was defeated by Luke Rockhold.

1. The Rise Of Connor Mcgregor.

When you look back 2013 UFC, you weren't short of stars. Anderson Silva. Benson Henderson. Jon Jones. GSP, and. Cain Valesquez, then enter stage left the birth of the fighting Irish. After Connor beat Max Holloway, the rise  started and it has never really stopped, from smashing Jose Aldo to become the UFC Featherweight Champion, and then beating Nate Diaz twice, and Eddie Alvarez to become the Lightweight Champion, all in the space of one year. During this period, everything he touched turned to Gold.

Intro.

Lets take ourselves back to August 2012. Batmans The Dark Knight Rises, and. Ted, were proving to be Box Office smashes. The Spice Girls had performed at the Olympics in London, and Payphone by Maroon 5 was at Number in the UK. And the UFC was at it's most profitable. They were seeing record highs were ever they went. From Canada. Brazil. China, and the UK, the worlds leading fight Organisation was proving with every event, that MMA would become the world leader in Combat Sports. This was a year to remember, and this event is one that I go back to all the time.

5. The Future Was Looking Bright For Max Holloway.

When you take a deep dive into the career of Max Holloway, you could get a sense that the UFC were on to something when he became marketable. He's a multiple time Featherweight Champion, and BMF Champion, and it started on this night when he beat Justin Lawrence. Justin would go on to be a standout in Bellator MMA after his contract with the UFC wasn't renewed.

4. Where's Buddy Roberts Today.

Buddy would go on to have a minor career with the vegas outlet, that was until febuary of this year, when he was removed from their roster. On this night, he made his debut facing Yushin Okami in a loosing battle. Today he fights under the PFL banner.

3. Were's Ed Herman Today.

Ed on this show lost to Jake Shields in what was a boring fight. Nowadays he's a devoted coaching, and mentoring the future of the industry. This fight didn't exactly bring the best out in both fighters.

2. Denver Is The Real Home Of The UFC.

It's easy to think that Las Vegas is the home of the worlds biggest fight organisation, but it was actually given its break in Denver Colarado which was the home for UFC 1 back in 1993. Since then the sport has gone to change the way that we look at Combat Sports. It had it's issues from politicians, and critics, and those early years would be pivotal in how the organisation would be run in the fiture. Roughly 7.800 people attended the first UFC event at the McNiichols Sports Arena. I think that this is amazing, when you think about it. 19 years later the UFC returned to the state that started it all.

1. Donald Cowboy Cerone.

I think that the career of Donald Cowboy Cerone needs to be studied. I think when all is said and done. I think that Donald he will go down as one one of the best UFC fighters to never hold a Major Championship. He's had some barn burning fights over the years, facing the likes of Nate Diaz, and. Benson Henderson, but on this night he beat his former team mate Melvin Guillard, and he's never looked better. He knocked out the young assasin in the first round, having recovered from being rocked in the early on.

 Top 5 MMA Fighters That Betted On Themselves.

Intro.

A wiseman once said that if you bet on yourself you will always win, this is advice that was given to me when I started this crazy writing journey. This is something that can labelled on MMA fighters, so these are the best examples of  individuals who turned things around for themselves.

5. Chuck Liddell.

Chuck is the very definition of if you could bottle up passion, and love for an industry, then you would be a millionaire. His love for chasing the fight is something that I have taken with me for years. I believe that if you put the work in, then you can achieve anything. From coming from a one parent household, to owning the world of MMA, you could say that this man is special.

4. Matt Hamill.

Even though Matt wasn't a champion in the Light Heavyweight division, his grit that came from his disibility made him someone that had a never say die attitude. In the def community he was a beacon in sports, because this is normally a community that gets shrugged under the carpet.

3. Anthony Rumble Johnson.

From being taken by his Garndmother at a young age, due to his own mum not being fit enough to take care of him, he ran the gauntlet of overcoming this stigma. I was fan of his up until his death in 2022. His fighting ability was something that repressented the fighting spirit that we all have inside us.

2. Tito Ortiz.

If you want something bad enough, then you can achieve anything. Tito came from a rough up bringing, from drug addict parents not giving him a stable home life, to getting involved in street gangs, to watching one of his friends get shot. To becoming one of the most recognisable figures in MMA during the mid noughties. Tito overcame these obstacles, and thrived. These stories are the definition of taking your shot and successfully succeeding.

1. Connor Mcgregor.

From trying to get by on the Irish bread line, to becoming one of the mouthy figures in the sport. Even though his star has diminished over the past few years, due to harmful allegations that I can't condone, that doesn't take away the fact he took fans imaganations at a time when the UFC was starting to develop new stars.

My Thoughts On Christmas Monday Night Raw.

Intro.

I have an apology to make, this is because I had to miss reviewing last weeks AEW Dynamite, this is due to the fact that my day job had left me feeling run down, and when you ad that in with a hospital visit in london, this meant that I had to give the show that came from my own country a miss. I'm ok, I just needed time to myself to relax, because next year is going to be big for me.

5. Austin Theory Wants To Be Part Of The Vision.

As things turn out, I'm not the only person who didn't like last weeks big reveal. Austin Theory now wants to join The Vision, and just like that I felt myself sigh. The Vision has been something that has been preceived as hot'n cold by WWE standards, and when you dig beneath the surface, this is a real shame.

4. Rhea Ripley vs Asuka.

I didn't like this. The Match felt forced, and a backwards way to redo their WrestleMania 37 Clash. The in ring work felt tired, and the piped in noise felt nausiating. Asuka got the win.

3. 90 Minutes No Ads.

Even though this weeks Monday Night Raw wasn't very good. I do feel that at 90 minutes commercial free, this just flew by.

2. It's Time To Get Bouncy.

I've already spoken about how next year for me is going to be a big one, but that doesn't compare what WWE has in store for Jevon Evans, and judging by how he beat Rayo, I think it's safe to say that his future looks very bright.

1. Gunther Is The Man.

I loved this. WWE have generally done a great job with Gunther this year from a promo stand point. They've created a monster that you just want to see get beaten, and this is all in part to clever creative, and its been clearly evident watching him on weekly TV. His face offs with Cm Punk, and. AJ Styles are a fantastic look into how WWE are going to book him in 2026.

This year has been an interesting time, from getting my adsense, to putting my name out there even more, you could say that 2025 has been decent, but in reality I've made no money from this, and has left me thinking about my future. I'm going to continue writing, i'm just going to be doing it on my own domain name, this will allow me to have more freedom than what I would've had on Google Blogger. I'm not slamming Blogger because it has given me an immense amount of confidence, I just feel that it's time to move on. A wise man once said. Never Give Up.

Content Moving Forward.

The content that you guys have come to know won't be changing. Over the past year I've added in UFC content because it was the next step that I needed to take. This has been one of my favourite things to do this year, and that will continue into next year. I'm going to be attending WWE Smackdown at the OVO Wembley Arena in January, and I will be making content around that, this will just be the beginning of what I hope will be a standout year.

Top 5 Famous UFC Fans.

Intro.

During a typical UFC event, the camera normally pans to the crowd, and it's fascinating to see which famous fans are in attendence. Boxing has it's fair share of famous faces that range from Justin Bieber to Al Pacino, so lets take a look at those who love the UFC.

5. Gordon Ramsey.

Gordon Ramsey has been seen at a number of UFC events from UFC 201 and other events in Vegas. Just don't serve this man a raw hotdog.

4. Snoop Dogg.

This guy has quite the history in both of TKO's brands, he has appeared at Wrestlemania 23. 39, and. 40, and has been sat at cageside for UFC events, and has even done commentary for Dana Whites Contender Series. Him and Urijah Faber were hilarious.

3. JellyRoll.

The Country music star who has a heart of stone is known to be a fan of the worlds biggest fight promotion, having been to multiple events, and fight nights. He has also trained in MMA as part of his weight loss journey.

2. Anthony Kiedis.

The Frontman of The Red Hot Chili Peppers has been a fan of the worlds leading fight Promotion since it's inception, and is a known practioner of BJJ, he has also been to  multiple UFC events over the years.

1. Tom Hardy.

This man has played Charles Bronson. Ronnie Kray, and even Bane in the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy, and he's even into the cage when he was in Warrior, a film in which he trained with Greg Jacksons camp in Albuquerque New Mexico.

 My Thoughts On This Weeks Monday Night Raw.

Intro.

As the year comes to an end. I've started to think about what is going to come next year. WrestleMania is heading back to Las Vegas. I'm going to be attending the Road To The Royal Rumble Tour in January, and then there's AEW heading back to Wembley Stadium. This year has been one of confusion, so lets hope for a better 2026.

5. Gunthers Opening Segment.

After WWE had finished showing a recap from SNME, Gunther came out, and he revelled in his new found heat. This is WWE at its most creative. Gunther cut down the fans with ease, and laid waste to John Cena's legacy by stating that he did what he said he was going to do. Make John tap out. He ran this back on the announcers desk, to Michael Coles disgust, and walked out of the arena. He was greated by The Alpha Academy. R Truth, and. Adam Pearce, but when Gunther got to his car, AJ Styles was sitting on the hood. He moved away as AJ Stood there. Gunther then said that AJ can't see him as he drove off. This was awesome, and a superb way to start the show. This is one of the most creative things that WWE have done all year on weekly TV, and it has made Gunther look relevant again. In my opinion Gunther has struggled for a bit of revelentcy, since his intercontinental Championship reign, this has now changed, and he's now one of the best heels in the business.

4. Cm Punk Segment.

Cm Punk is a man of many words, and when he delivers them, he's gets me hooked. This segment that was aimed at Bron Breakker, and his family was excellent. Punk has an ability to hit fans in their belief system, and this segment was no differant. Bron would get Punk back later on in the show, and it acted like a perfect way to build to the Raw Netflix anniversary show on January 5th.

3. I Love The Kabuki Warriors.

On the subject of January 5th. The Kabuki Warriors will face Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky, for the WWE Womens Tag Team Championships. Asuka gave Rhea a good old fashioned misting, and for some reason I couldn't stop laughing. The Match however I think will be better than what we might think.

2. Fans Sounded Tired.

This broadcast did have one major problem. The WWE filmed Smackdown before the show. This is a massive problem, because it leads to what we got last night. Certain moments like Maxine Dupri vs Ivy Nile, and the main event of Logan Paul vs Rey Mysterio, all suffered from fan exhaustion, this is because the length of the show left fans tired. I understand the need for the company to give talent the holiday period off, but the planning from the fans side needs to be taken into account.

1. Stephanie Vaquer vs Raquel Rodriguez WWE Womens Championship.

I didn't like this. The Match was going fine, but i'm getting sick and tired of the constant interference finishes. It's boring, and predictable. I want this Nikki Bella and Stephanie Vaquer feud to end, because it has become highly repetitive.

 My Top 5 Moments From UFC Fight Night Kape vs Royval.

Intro.

Ding dong merrily on high it's the end of the year, and it's beeen interesting for the UFC. Sing songs aside, this year hasn't been a critical darling for the Vegas outlet. Some fights haven't lived up to their promise, as ticket prices have sky rocketed. With the stellar cards that have already been announced. I think 2026 is going to be a big year for MMA as a whole.

5. Hold Your Loved Ones Close.

This would be a theme that would run through the broadcast. The UFC's contract with ESPN is coming to an end, and this would be the last Broadcast for the company, because from January next year the UFC will be heading over to Paramount+ in a multi year billion dollar deal. This means that there ascociation with the Stuart Scott foundation was coming to an end. The Stuart Scott foundation was set up after the legendary broadcaster passed away from cancer. This is a reminder to hold your loved ones close, because you don't know what's around the corner.

4. King Greene vs Lance Gibson.

Look I respect both men, but this fight didn't do any favours for either fighter. Fairplay to Gibson for taking the fight on a few days notice, but this was a flat affair that actually stifled me, because both fighters looked uneven. King Greene got the win. I've heard some fans online say that King should be looking at a title shot in the lightweight division. I don't think it's a good idea for him, at his age of thirty nine, he will have to be starting to look at the future, and were his place lys in the UFC.

3. A Fight To Watch Out For Next Year.

The first Fight Night from the Apex next year is coming out strong for it's first headline fight. Vinicus Olivera vs Mario Bartista, oh man this is going to be a barnburner. Febuary 7th get that in the diary people.

2. Melquizad Costa Owns Morgan Charreriere.

I didn't see the fight ending this way. Melquizad Costa knocked out Morgan Charreriere with a headkick knockout. This was awesome. As I watched this take place in real time. I was amazed by the speed and accuracy of how he pulled off the move, as a men who has a karate background, the way that he crafted the kick is something that I thought was amazing. It's not easy in fights to able to generate that type of space, so to see this happen in real time blew me away.

1. Manel Kape TKO's Brandon Royval.

This was yet another excellent performance from Manel Kape. This was yet another showcase that left me reeling, because I was amazed how Manel broke the distance and was able to pull of the knockout. This reminded me of how Anderson Silva did the same thing when he beat Chris Leben nearly twenty years ago. He broke down the distance in the first round, and this gave him the chance to own Brandon, and make him look like an amiture. Just like The Spider. I think the UFC have something special with this guy.

WWE Saturday Nights Main Event Review John Cena's Last Match.

Legends In Attendence.

Mark Henry. Trish Stratus. Kurt Angle, and. HBK were all seen in attendence, this would cause a slew of tributes as the evening went on.

Joe Tessatore And Stephanie Mcmahon.

These cut backs would be a reacurring theme throughout the night, and all they made me do was not be able to stand Stephanie Mcmahon even more. Enough should've been enough after her first showing.

Cody Rhodes vs Oba Femi.

I'm not the biggest of NXT guys these days if i'm being honest, but I do like Oba Femi. Every Wednesday when I check out the NXT Highlights on Youtube Oba stands out, and Cody did a great job to example this. He took his moveset with ease, and this did wonders for the Nigerian upstart. Drew Mcintyre got the Match thrown out, and Oba helped Cody deck Drew. This is a good way to get to Oba vs Drew at a later date.

Sol Ruca vs Bayley.

This was excellent. When you dig beneath the surface, this was a fantastic piece of business, and it did its job. Sol Got the win, and Bayleys run into her own downfall continues.

Jevon Evans And Leon Slater vs AJ Styles And Dragon Lee.

I liked this. Leon Slater is a UK Homegrown talent, and it showed. The Matches within the Match made for an excellent viewing experience. The chemistry between both teams was something special, and when the nearfalls came in, I felt that lightning in a bottle was brewing, and I think I could be right. AJ and Dragon got the win. Leon Slater, and Jevon Evans are in for one hell of a year, when January rolls around.

The Miz Gets Humiliated By Joe Hendry.

The Miz last night gave me a bad nightmare that came true, he was in the main event of WrestleMania 27. This still gives night scares. I will give Miz credit where its due, him wearing the same ring gear from that time, that now clearly didn't fit him was a nice touch. Miz made the mistake, as R Truth said his name. Right i'm just going to check my house. Nope Joe Hendry is nowhere in sight.

John Cena vs Gunther

The study in contrast between how John and Gunther came to the ring was palpable. Gunther took a load of heat from the fans, whilst Cena built the crowd up to the point that when he came out I felt like I was seeing a Metallica gig. I experienced Cena Mania first hand, at a house show at Wembley Arena from back in 2014, so lets just put it this way. I have seen loads of the biggest bands at that venue, from GreenDay. Paramore. My Chemical Romance, and Muse. And John got a bigger response than all of them combined. This is what makes John special. The Match felt like a run through of Johns greatest hits, and that's all this Match needed to be. The story that was told was very simple and effective, and both men played into this perfectly, as time wore on, and John tried to get out of Gunthers Chokes, after the third attempt John tapped out, he gave up. Mr Never Give Up, gave up. Fans online have vented their feelings, and I get it. But when you dig beneath the surface, it has masked a cloud over how WWE has planned its booking this year. Johns Heel turn at Elimination Chamber was excellent, however what came afterwards was a mixed bag. And his return to being a babyface has been met with confusion, overall this has capped off a bad year for WWE's creative, and I can't see it getting any better. The closing moments, and John being embraced by Cody Rhodes, and Cm Punk was a site that I will never forget. I get that John isn't everyones favourite, and at one point In my adult hood. I couldn't stand him myself, but he grew on me, and as a man who grew up with learning issues. I felt like Johns ability on the mic helped my confidence as I grew up in my early twenties, and for that I will always be greatful to John, so am I going to miss him, in the ring No, but on the mic Yes. John is Pro Wrestlings answer to Marmite, and I mean that with the kindest of regards.

 My Top 5 Thoughts From AEW Winter Is Coming.

I've got to apologise for the lateness of this list. I've changed the name of my blog to squaredcirclemma.blogspot.com, and as a result this has led to me reconsider using Blogger. I've decided that next year I will be going it alone, i'm still going to be making content, but i'm going to be moving away from blogger. This has caused to me to take a look at where I want to take what i'm building. More info will come out in the new year. This is due to the fact i'm not making any money. But hey like John Cena always says. Never Give Up. So I won't. Because the Internet needs my annoying opinions, and top 5 lists.

5. Babes Of Wrath Are The 1st Ever AEW Womens Tag Team Champions.

As the end of the AEW Womens Tag Team Tournament came to and end, I was left thinking to myself. What was the point of this, and then it hit me, this in my opinion, was a way to write a wrong, when it comes to how Tony Khan books the womens division. The Match itself was a fun run through that kept me hooked from the start. Harley Cameron has a belt in AEW, this is awesome.

4.  The Continental Classic Just Gets Better.

Jack Perry, and. Kazuchika Okada had a fine showing on Wednesday Night. This was also used to further the never ending rivalry between The Young Bucks, and TDCWO. The Match I thought was excellent, however i'm starting to lose my patience with this storyline.

3. I Love Mark Briscoe.

I think the title speaks for itself. I love me some Mark Briscoe, and his promo here was great. The Word of the day is love.

2. Katsuyouri Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs vs Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland Tonado Tag Match.

This was a fresh way to continue this rivalry into it's next level. The Match managed to cater to the sadistic side of all fans brains. I loved the fact that all teams had a fight in the fans, as the split screen shots kept me in the loop. This was fun, and I had a great watching it when I got home from my day job.

1. Eddie Kingston Can't Win The Big One.

I felt angry for Eddie. This Match was a real let down, and I think at points you could see it written all over their faces. Samoa Joe retained his championship in what was a flat TV Match.

 My Top 5 Thoughts On Friday Night Smackdown.

5. Cody Rhodes Opening Segment.

Our World Heavyweight champion was in one hell of a fiery moode last night, he walked out to the ring, after running into Nick Aldis, who told him that Drew Mcintyre is taking the WWE to court for not providing a safe work enviroment. This is rich coming from him. Cody walked to the ring and cut a promo on Drew, but he was met by Oba Femi, his opponent for SNME. I liked all of this. In his last vingnette heading into the last time is now tournament. John said that the next SNME will focus on the future of the WWE, this Match up makes perfect sense, and their minor dual was a clear indication for where WWE is heading in the future.

4. Ilja Dragonov Retained His United States Championship.

Am I the only person who thinks that Ilja Dragonov is becoming the best thing about Friday Night Smackdown. His Matches always tend to deliver, and you can always see the effort in his eyes, and every opponent that he faces, seem to Match up effortlessly with him, and. Tomassp Ciampa was no differant. I had a blast watching this.

3. The Wyatt Sic Respond To The MFT's.

I can understand why this might not have been for all fans, but when you dig beneath the surface, this was a great way to pay pribute to Bray. I know that his is leading to a four way Tag Match at a later date, but if i'm being honest when Solo told Uncle Howdy To Run, all this did was remind me to hug my loved ones.

2. Celebs Praise John Cena.

Celebrities like Peyton Manning. Eli Manning. Tom Brady. Jimmy Fallon, and JellyRoll all gave John Cena his flowers, and it was a great sight to see. I will give my thoughts on John tomorrow when my SNME Review will goes live in the evening.

1. The Terror Twins Are Back In Business.

I've seen some reactions online to fans liking this, and even though everyone is welcome to their own opinions. I didn't like this. I thought that the in-ring work felt a bit flat, and overall over booked. Rhea Ripley, and. Damien Priest, beat Alestair Black, and. Zelina Vega, and if this was a school report it would read must do better.

My Top 5 Times Pro Wrestling Made Me Feel True Emotions.

Intro.

When I was younger. I thought that only films could make feel emotions, but as I grew older this became a thing. Pro Wrestling has an ability to hook fans with there emotions, and i'm no differant. From the moment I became a fan at the age of 7, little did I know that this would become a lifelong obsession, and love. So these are the moments that made stunned into nearly, and crying.

5. Sami Zayn Turns On Roman Reigns Royal Rumble2023.

I stayed up late on a cold January night just so I could see this all unfold, and it didn't let me down. Roman reigns vs Kevin Owens was a well booked affair, that promise as the anquish on Samy's face was riddled all over him, from the aftermath of the trial of Samy Zayn. The moment that came to shock the world when Sami turned on Roman was a well timed moment in time. This was the number 1 trend on twitter at the time.

4. The Undertaker Says Goodbye ( or so I thought ) Mania 33.

The Undertakers Match against Roman Reigns was a letdown at WrestleMania 33. It was a main event that had issues delivering the goods, and it clearly showed. Takers physical appearance looked like a shadow of its former self, and when you marry that together with the health problems that Mark Callaway has faced over the years, this made for a bad cocktail. When the Match was over Mark laid his gloves down, and at that moment he broke Keyfabe, and showed that there was more to the character than what had been shown on TV.

3. Edge's retirement.

This one was a bitter pill to swallow. The Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania 27 was full of suprise tinged with sadness. Edge came out, and spoke candidly to the fans. He talked about the issues that he has gone through due to his neck, and how in recent times they had creeped back up in the build up to that years Mania. He had been advised by Drs to step away from the ring. His diagnosis was spinal stanosis, the same injury that ended the career of Stone Cold Steve Austin just eight years prior.

2. Cm Punks Return To Pro Wrestling.

From clever marketing that ignited excitement in fans, with AEW telling fans something without actually telling fans anything. So on the second ever edition of AEW Rampage Punk would come back to the sport that he had walked away from. This was a poignant moment that made grown men like me cry. It's a image that I still can't believe actually happened, but it did, and it was great.

1. 10 Bell Salutes To Those That Deserve It.

The 10 bell salute is seen as a way to say goodbye to those that have entertained us over the years, from remembering Bray, saying goodbye to Eddie Guererro, to AEW paying tribute to Brodie Lee in one of the most difficult episodes of any Pro Wrestling shows, to ever be commited to by a company. These are the moments when you should hold your friends, and loved ones close, because life is too short.

 Top 5 Times WWE Pissed Off TV Censors.

Intro.

WWE and TV Censors have had a varied mix of history. Some countries don't tend to look at Major issues, but when it comes to how things could get copied, or incidents that go against taste and decentcy, this is called censorship at it's most honest, and baffling in many cases. You could say that the WWE has always braun the line between these two metrics.

5. Mohammed Hassan.

From his debut in late 2004 this rifled up fans in my home country the UK. Whole segments would get cut from Smackdown broadcasts by Sky Sports. This is due to the fact that Ofcom, a company that govern all TV Channels over here have rules against any form of hate speech, and this is what makes these segments worrying if you were a fan at this time. And then you add in what happened on july 7th 2005, and after this the character was gone.

4. DX Segments Various.

Were do I begin with the attitude era. DX were leading the charge for anarchy, and outright over sexualised chaos. Fans loved DX, the WWE Office loved DX, TV networks, well not so much. The USA Network, and. Sky Sports weren't happy. This is mainly because the WWE were doing there own version of humour that was catered around race, and language. Here in the UK that is a big no no.

3. Channel 4 Didn't Have A Clue What They Were Buying.

In late 1999 a deal was struck between WWE and the UK Broadcaster channel 4 to take four of the PPV's, and Sunday Night Heat. This deal would last for two years, the only thing is the deal was for four years, this was cut short due to Royal Rumble 2000, and a pentioner stripping off. I wish that I made this up, but I didn't. The standards were then changed after this. PPV's were shown on a delay which give them the chance to make cuts when need be. I thought this was a bit hypocritical of Channel 4, given the fact that 6 years before this they showed the first gay kiss before the watershed on Brookside, and also commissioned Brass Eye, so this was pointless.

2. Wee Wee To the Face.

Pandemic Wrestling was certainly a place in time that I don't want to revisit. So this segment from June 2020 managed to annoy Fox, who at the time had the rights to show Smackdown in the USA. The segment that featured Sheamus who tried to make Jeff Hardy drink a beer, given his issues with alcohol, wasn't a good move by the company. Sheamus took the supposed beer to the face, I say the word supposed because it was actually hardy's piss. This angered Fox because they felt that this went way too far.

1. He Who Shall Not Be Named Makes Trish Stratus Bark Like A Dog.

I'm just going to say it. I despise anyone who acts on issues like coersive control. This segment was so bad that it was cut out completely from broadcast in the build up to Mania 17 by Sky Sports here in the UK. This is arguably the worst segment that WWE have ever produced, and just think of the milage that you can cover.

Top 5 UFC PPV's That I Go Back To Nowadays.

Intro.

Writing this list stumped me, because As I sit here on a Monday morning, I had to dig beneath the surface of my brain, and think what are my favourite ever UFC PPV's. These events are the ones that I still watch to this day on DVD. From great fights to stand out moments, these PPV's live rent free in my brain.

5. UFC 79 Nemesis.

This card is awesome. From the burning heat that was Rich Clementi vs Mevin. Rameau Sokoudjou, and Lyoto Machida reminding fans that Pride was still alive in it's own spirit. This show was also the coming out party for GSP after he beat Matt Hughes for the UFC Interim Welterweight Championship, and then there's Chuck Liddell vs Vanderlai Silva, a fight that stands up today as one of the best MMA 3 round fights ever in my opinion. This was a steller card, that came complete with loads of promise, and it delivered.

4. UFC 132.

From Tito Ortiz shocking the world, and submitting Ryan Baber. Chris Leben knocking out Wanderlai Silva, and then there's the 5 round war that Urijah Faber and Dominck Cruz had for the UFC Bantamweight Championship. This fight was an excellent go around, that showcased the bitter distain that these two had for one another. The build was promoted perfectly, as it brought the novice fan into their history from Their days in the WEC. This is one hell of a PPV.

3. UFC 91.

Any PPV that features Kenny Florian, and Joe Daddy Stevenson, and. Gabriel Gonzaga vs Josh Hendricks go to war in seperate fights is always a good time to me. Even though watching Brock Lesnar in our year of 2025 isn't a good sight, in 2008 we were living in the Brock era, and this proved to be a very profitable time for the UFC. 

2. UFC 150.

From Justin Lawrence facing an up and coming fighter named Max Holloway. Donald Cowboy Cerone facing one of his former team mates Melvin Guillard, in what was a steller performance from the Cowboy, and the second fight of the year for Frankie Edgar, and. Benson Smooth Henderson for the UFC Lightweight Championship Crown out did their UFC 142 war. Frankie in his post fight interview with Joe Rogan just said everything that you need to know about the man. He's a true warrior, and the fact that he left his heart in the cage is something that speaks to me in my day to day life. You've got to keep going, no matter what punches get thrown at you.

1. UFC 92 The Ultimate.

As the way that UFC New Year shows go, this is up there for my money, as one of the best that they've ever committed to producing. Quinton Rampage Jackson giving Wanderlai Silva a Nasty KO. Frank Mir's comeback tour continuing after he beat Minatauro Nogueira, and then there's Sugar Rashad Evans beating Forrest Griffin to become the new UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. This was an elevated card, that delivered from a fight, and fan perspective.

 

The Undertakers Last Ride Docu Series Top 5 Deep Dive.

Intro.

If you take your minds back to 2020, the world was in a differing state, the pandemic had taken a grip on the world, and how many compan'ys conducted there business. The WWE however ploughed through with all of there plans, including releasing content for there now defunct WWE Network. This release was centred around The Deadman, and the final years of his in ring career. I didn't write anything about this at the time, because I didn't have the confidence to have my own platform, but given the fact this years Survivor Series wrapped up last weekend, I thought this would be a good idea to go back and take a look at this series. 35 Years of The Undertaker. Were has the time gone.

 Episode 1. Greatest Fear.

This was a bold way to start of the series. The episode was focused around the importance of family relationships, that are tinged with blind loyalty. Mark opened up about the protection of his character, whilst handling the riggers of the road. His Mania streak does get covered, and how it ended at the dismay of the fans. His concussion gets talked about to a degree, as he  brings not remembering anything from that day. This was then rubbished by He Who Shall Not Be Named during his Netflix Docu Series. This says to me that mental blocks are real, and should be treated seriously. The issue of mental blocks can also be used to describe how he felt after his Match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33. The moment when Taker took off his gear in the ring would symbalise the end of his career, or so we thought. I thought this was a fed pilled example of blind loyalty, being put together with how the riggers of the road can leave a talent feeling that maybe there time has come.

Episode 2. Redemption.

The real life Ramifications of Mania 33, and how Taker was going to bounce back, became the backbone of this episode. It's clear that Taker has issues with self doubt, and it was evidently clear watching. His wife Michelle Mccool appears across the series as a talking head, and doesn't really offer up much in terms of analysis, but she does give is the opinion from the side of a loved one. Taker felt guilt after his Match with Roman, because he didn't think that he gave his all, this lead to him apologising to him backstage at Mania 34, after he beat John Cena. His Build to facing Cena at Mania 34 would get overlooked on TV due to the Tag Build for Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey vs HHH and Stephanie Mcmahon, but when you take a look at how he prepared for a 5 minute Match,  I could tell that this wasn't the end. Episode 2 is stark reminder how hard work can bring you back to the forefront, but leave you feeling with the question. How Much do I have to give.

Episode 3. Feeling Empty.

This episode was centred around the relationship between Taker and HHH, and. HBK. Their Mania Matches still stand up today, and prove the point that bonds aren't built, they're created by pure magic and grit. This was WWE at it's finest for this period, and I loved it. Fast Forward to 2018, and Taker is headlining Madison Square Garden as part of WWE's Summer U.S Tour, hearing him reflect on this times in this building was a fascinating insight into how he loves the industry. He was backstage talking, and giving advice to the younger talent. HHH and Takers Match from Super Showdown 2018 from Sydney Australia gets covered in a highlight package, and this was for the best, because this match was terrible. What came after this was WWE's second trip to Saudi Arabia, and DX vs The Brothers Of Destruction. To say that this Match was a car crash, was all the participants being nice, because was horrorific. This would have an effect on Taker. Love for an industry that you work in can be seen as devotion, but in trurh it's not always your friend, and it can hurt you.

4. The Battle Within.

Hearing from those who aren't with us Today. Bray Wyatt, and. William Moody, who played the role of Paul Bearer up until 2004, added an sense of emotional depth, that the previous eps were missing. Seeing the old footage from the WWE archives, felt like I stepped back in time in the best way, as Bruce Pritchard talked about the person Mark Callaway. Fear of missing out is all real, and can't ignored. Taker was backstage at Mania 35, and you could see it written all over his face, he wanted to be out there, but he wasn't needed. This was a sensible move from WWE to keep him close, as the fear of an upstart company was looming. His Match Against Goldberg from Super Showdown 2019 in Saudi Arabia was covered in all of it's terrfying form. The moment Goldberg gives Taker that Jack Knife Powerbomb still to this day is something that WWE are trying to forget about. He left the ring on his own accord, but when you look at the facts, he was only two inches away from something awful happening. No Pro Wrestling show,  or moment should come above someones own health. This led to the formation of The Graveyard Dogs. Taker teamed up with Roman Reigns to face Shane Mcmahon, and Drew Mcintyre, at 2019 Extreme Rules PPV. The Match ended up being one of my favourite Matches from that year, and a reminder that he still has it. It was known that after this Match, he told He Who Shall Not Be Named, that he was done, and he was told that the company would follow his lead. This episode is a reminder that, if you're done then you've got the right to go out the way that you see fit.

5.  Episode Revelation.

In November 2019 Taker appeared on Steve Austins Broken Skulls Sessions. And he hinted that he might not be done. AJ Styles watched this, and that's what gave birth to the idea of the Boneyard Match. But what was around the corner caused this stipulation, and how WWE would run its business for the next 16 months. The Covid 19 Pandemic was a tough time globally, and this made WWE change its plans going forward, gone were the international tours that had been booked, and Mania at Raymond James Stadium in Florida was put back a year. Mania 36 came from the behind closed doors at there own Performance Centre in Orlando. This meant for certain Matches they had to think outside the box. Before WWE filmed the Boneyard Match. Taker would have to deal with the loss of his brother, and Michelle Mccool lost her nephew. The Match with AJ was filmed on Location, and would take a night to film. It turned out to be an entertaining romp that stole the weekend for me. As Troubador by George Strait played out in the closing moments with images of the past, Taker could be heard saying that he contempt with being done, and this was the right way to conclude this show. Taker got to ride off the way that he wanted, and that's the most important thing. And to think this started off with a phonecall in 1990, that started with the words. Is this my Undertaker.

 

 AEW Dynamite Review 4.12.2025

Samoa Joe And Eddie Kingston Segment.

I loved this segment. So all I will say is this. This was no notes perfect to me. Next week at Winter Is Coming is going to be awesome.

Pac vs Kazuchika Okada Continental Classic.

This was a lofi quality Match, that delivered on all counts. Both men showed that they've got excellent chemistry, and this gave birth for the story to be told. I thought this was glorious, and a good way to kick start the show. Okada got the win by roll up.

Mark Briscoe Segment.

I love Mark Briscoe. He will face Daniel Garcia when AEW Visits Cardiff in just over to quote 9 days.

Ricochet Segment.

Ricochet Has been one of AEW's unsung heros this year, from wanting to murder people with scissors, to being a menace to The Hurt Syndicate. I love this guy.

Kyle Fletcher vs Kevin Knight Continental Classic.

So far the Continental Classic has over delivered. This Match is the perfect example of this. Both men kicked out of Liger Bombs, coast to coasts, and. Brainbusters, as they laid everything out bare, just so they could create magic. Kyle got the win, and in the aftermath Kyle, and. Don Callis cut promos, but due to the ad break, we didn't get to hear what Kyle said, because this was centred around Don and what he thought of The Young Bucks. Complete with references to puberty. The Bucks came out and attacked the family. Kazuchika Okada gave Matt Jackson a rainmaker, and this was when Jurassic Express made the save. Don grabbed hold of Matt Jackson and tried to gauge his eyes out, that was until Kenny Omega helped out his Elite family. Be still my wayward heart.

Mercedes Mone Segment.

Mercedes will get another belt at ROH Final Battle this Friday. I don't think that many fans care if i'm honest.

Hardcore Holiday Deathmatch AEW Womens Tag Team Tournament Semi-finals. Megan Bayne And Marina Shafir vs The Timeless Lovebombs.

I loved this. If you want to have fun at 10am in the morning, then just stick this Match on. From humerous weapon spots that had me howling. Toni and Mina having awesome dance moves on entrance, to the return of Santa Lufer claus. This was great, and a lot of fun. Timeless Lovebombs got the win, and will now face The Babes Of Wrath to become the first ever AEW Womens Tag Team Champions next week.

Dark Order vs The Opps AEW Trios Championship.

I didn't like this It felt flat, and extremely boring. But it's great to see Jon Silver back on Dynamite. You love to see it. The Opps retained. Hangman Adam Page then called Hook and Shibata for a Match next week, and he will have a mystery partner.

Okada vs Takeshita.

This Match has legs, and I think we could get the second one at All In next year. I need this Match in my life.

Claudio Castagnoli vs Jon Moxley Continental Classic.

For my money this is the best that the Continental Classic Match so far in the tournament. It was a bloodsoaked masterstroke in storytelling. I've said this before that the downfall of Jon Moxley from the deathriders is the best thing that AEW has going for it at the moment, and this Match furthered my point. Claudio got the win, as this Match was heading to be a time limit draw. This was excellent.

Overview Of AEW Dynamite.

This is one of the best episodes of Dynamite this year in my opinion, as the continental Classic continues to grow. This weeks AEW Dynamite is a must watch.

My Top 5 WWE Survivor Series Moments.

Intro.

What are the best moments in WWE Survivor Series history, this was a question that ran through my mind. I have my favourites, and I have those that make me think, well that was a thing wasn't it. This is a fun list that delves into the world of Survivor Series.

5. The Montreal Screwjob.

Ok I have to get this one out of the way first, because multiple writers over the years have dined out on this for nearly 30 years. It was a seismic moment in Pro Wrestling history, and a matter that is very well documented. Bret and Shawns relationship these days seems to be better, but back in 1997, it was a different world.

4. Kurt Angle Fools The Undertaker.

The WWF Championship Match at the year 2000 event was funny. Have you ever seen 2 Kurt Angles, well if you stayed up in here in the UK, your eyes weren't weary at 2am, because you most definately saw 2 lookalikes of Kurt Angle. The Match wasn't up to much, but this did make me laugh.

3. Stone Cold Steve Austin Gets Run Over.

Survivor Series 1999 was the end of a good run for Stone Cold Steve Austin, he had completely burnt himself out, and needed time off to go and get neck surgery. The angle in which he was ran over, would then get used as the golden example in how to do a Pro Wrestling who done it. I remember watching this at the time, and going into school the day after, and this was all anyone could talk about.

2. Ric Flair vs HHH Have A Bloodbath.

This would signal the end of two eras in my opinion. The first one was HHH's reign of terror, and the second one was the Evolution era, both weren't very profitable for the company when you look at the TV ratings during this time period. The Match was an all out war, that came with heavy blade jobs, after what we got at Taboo Tuesday, which took place just three weeks before this show.

1. The Return Of Cm Punk.

After the events of real glass gate from AEW's UK debut at Wembley Stadium. Cm Punk was let go by Tony Khan, after he had an altercation with Jack Perry. This would start the speculation of could Punk return to the company that he walked out on in 2014. So at the end of the mens Wargames Match in 2023, he returned. He walked out to a sold out All State arena in Chicago, to the uproar of an excited crowd, who were eager to see there hero all night. This was the architectual blue print for how to build excitement.

 

My Top 5 Thoughts From Monday Night Raw.

5. Wade And Joe In With The Fans.

This was irresponsible. WWE has come under fire in recent months for fan interactions, and how fans handle themselves. I thought this was a bit in bad taste. I know I can't talk for everyone, and this is just my opinion, but really.

4. Jey Uso vs LA Knight John Cena Last Time Semi-Final.

I liked this. The Match storyline was mainly centred around how these two have interracted over the past few months. The physicality was great, and this allowed for their chemistry to shine. Knight got the win, and then jey lost his temper, and all I had to say about this was. 4 letters one word. Baby.

3. The Judgement Day Are Reunited And It Feels So Good.

I loved this. I think this was a good night for the Judgement Day. Dom turned up in his real dads old renta car, and then later in the evening he welcomed back his kayfabe lover Liv Morgan. He insulted John Cena, whilst reminding me that he's the greatest Luchador of all time. I loved this. Just look at it this way. When Dom debuted in the Judgement Day I couldn't stand him, but now he's one of my favourite things on WWE TV, so that says one thing. Anything can happen in the space of three years.

2. Natalya Is An Army Colonel.

Natalya acted like the Colonel from Stanley Kubricks Full Metal Jacket. Maxxine Dupri is going to snap at some point.

1 Gunther vs Solo Sikoa John Cena Last Time Is Now Tournament.

I think that Gunther has to be in with a shout, when all the best lists come out for the end of this year. His Matches have always gone from good to excellent. For a TV Match, this was something special, and it over delivered. Gunther will meet LA Knight on Friday Smackdown in the final. 

Top 5 WWE Survivor Series Debuts.

Intro.

In the years since Survivor Series debuted it has became known for its multi-man Matches, and it's debuts. The second one is what were going to looking at today, given the fact that at the time of writing Survivor Series Wargames has just wrapped. I  thought taking a trip down memoery lane is in order.

5. Blue Chipper Survivor Series.

Appearing on team Babyface as I call them led by Marc Mero.  The team also featured Jake The Snake Roberts, and The Stalker. ( 1996 Fed was a real thing ) Blue Chipper as Jim Ross called on Commentary was better known as Rocky Maivia, who's better known as The Rock, during his debut, you could tell that he was green as hell, and that's not a bad thing because the established stars protected him, and he could learn from their roles.

4. The Undertaker Survivor Series.

If you could take a trip back to 1990, and remember anything from this event, then it's the debut of The Deadman, being part of Ted Biase's millionaire team. He would go on to have a steller career from a fan aspect, and from the view of longevity, has actually stood up well.

3. Kurt Angle Survivor Series 1999.

I call this his actual debut, because when you take in just what was going to come throughout the following year.Kurts debut against Shawn Stasiak, might've been a dud from the look of Match quality, when you look at how long term plans were going to play out, then this worked.

2. Scott Steiner Survivor Series 2002.

Take your mind back to November 2002. WCW had been out of business for nearly 20 months, and some of the external contracts from Time Warner had, or were coming to an end, and the contracts that the WWE wanted to bring over, had been moved to the company. Scott was one of the last names to be brought over. His time in the company would be met with contention, and an overall bad feeling, mainly because quite a few of this Matches stalled in quality.

1. Sting SAurvivor Series 2014

It's Stiiiiiiiiiiiiing. But without his soul. Look I love the man known as sting, however his debut at the 2014 Survivor Series, did signal the end of the WCW brand 13 years after it's official end. The Wrestlemania 31 Match against HHH was a waste of time, and a classic example of a pissing contest.
