AEW Dynamite Review ( Delayed Edition ) 29.5.26.

Written By Patrick O'malley.

Will Osperay Segment.

In footage that was filmed after his Match against Samoa Joe from Double Or Nothing, this past Sunday. He said to Renee Paquette that he was on another level one when it came to excitement, he then went into the trainers rooms, when he came face to face with Kenny Omega. This was excellent, as it layed in the fear of doubt in Wills mind, when it comes to The Deathriders, and layed out a possible plan for Wembley if Will doesn't get the chance to fight for the title. I loved this, and it also made me think that Jon Moxley might have a future career, as an ease droppper if Pro Wrestling doesn't work out.

Kevin Knight Segment.

Boo hss boo this man. Kevin Knight is now a heel, and you could tell, as he walked to the ring decked in expensive shades. He had absolutely no care in his eyes, and just like that we were off to the races. He blamed Darby Allin for dropping the ball, and then said that he took MJF to his limits. This brought this tag team partner Speedball Mike Bailey, who tried to reason with his friend. only to be turned on. This segment was great. Speedball sold the beating that Kevin with ease, as he showed his anger later on in the broadcast. I fully expect them to have a TV Match at a later date, somewhere down the line.

The Demand Crying And Ricochet vs Jericho.

I love the fact that The Demand are now acting like a bunch of cry babies, however Ricochets Match against Jericho that followed I was not a fan of. Now I know what you're all going to say. It's because of reasons that I can't talk about online. Well suprise suprise I'm not. This Match felt flat, from the start, and it never fully recovered. Jericho got the win with his old friend the lionsault. Tommaso Ciampa then attacked Jericho in the aftermath.

Andrade El Idolo Segment.

Andrade wants a shot against shot against MJF's AEW World Heavyweight Championship, by orders of the Andrade Blinders.

Superstation Showcase 4 Way.

Rush beat. Brian Cage. Orange Cassidy, and Lio Rush, in what was a fun TV Match, that was centred around the matches within the match, the return of Jake Doyle, complete Chaos, and Orange Cassidy getting freaked out by Gollum. The Conglomeration made the save from the TDCWO. I liked this.

MJF Segment.

MJF has a backstage encounter with Kevin Knight, and Kyle Fletcher. This what AEW do best. You know when you were a kid, and your parents would take you to the circus, and you would see the trick when the man uses spinning plates, this is the perfect way to book a championship run.

The Brawling Birds Segment.

I don't know about you guys, but I think we could get an all out Brawling Birds Match at Wembley.

MJF 3 Time Championship Celebration.

I loved this. Over the past two years. Maxwell Jacob Freeman has slowly become AEW's answer to a main character. He completely basked in his own glory, as he lapped up the hate from the fans. He said that Darby was at home hiding, and now everyone has to bow down to Max. Mark Briscoe didn't take two nicely to this, he came out, and said that Max is a stranger in a strange land, quoting Iron Maiden, and then told him that he wants a shot at his title. Max walked, but that wasn't before he reminded Mark that he's nowhere even near his level. Rush then met Max on the stage, and said that he also wants a shot at Max's belt. This is the very definition of the spinning plate circus trick, and I love it. Rush will face Max next week, for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

Jack Perry Training Montage.

What do you get if you add Pro Wrestling in with the Rocky Franchise. Well if it's Jack Perry running up the steps in Philadelphia, and drinking egg whites, then the only thing that went through my mind is this. Yo Luchasaurus I did good today.

Claudio Castagnoli vs Brody King Owen Hart Tournament.

I liked this. If there is one thing in Pro Wrestling that I love, it's watching Heavyweights work, because there's something very fascinating about the dynamic, that men work with, this was one of those Matches, their exchanges were great, as it played into how the match was booked. Big Boys doing big beefy things. Brody got the win, and will now meet Swerve Strickland in the semi finals.

5 Second Posse.

I've got to say it. 12 year old Patrick O'malley would be very happy if he saw this today. Cope and Cage came as the new AEW Tag Team Champions, and just like that I felt like the kid at the back of my school class that listened to metal music, and read comics. Because I felt like a pre teen again. From Cage insulting the fans, by stating that might have created members of the crowd, and Adam Copeland giving fans some old school Kodaks, because. For the benefits of those with flash photography, it was time to get beaten down The Dogs. This was a fantastic segment, that focused on stark reality, whilst also going back in time to a good time to be a fan.

I love Prince Nana.

Prince Nana, and. Swerve Strickland were on smoke this past Wednesday. I need Swerve vs Brody King 2 in my life.

Tay Jay vs Local Talent Enhancement.

I didn't like this. It would've been better placed on Collision. Tay Jay got the win. This did nothing for me.

Jack Perry vs Mark Davis Owen Hart Tournament.

This Match didn't feel like a main event, this felt more like a continuation of a storyline that feels a bit directionless. Mark got the win, and if i'm being honest it only worked so we can get to the Mark Davis vs Will Osperay fireworks factory.

Overview Of This Weeks AEW Dynamite.

I've got to apologise for the lateness of this review. This came due to the fact that the piece I wrote on Love Ouutweighing hate had to come first, given how the world is today. This weeks AEW worked as circus trick that comes as an aid to get to the biggest show of the year at Wembley Stadium.

This week AEW Dynamite is a solid 7/10.
